Basic Controls

Here are the basic UI controls for kiyânaw Transcribe.

Basic Controls

1 Transcription Settings: Click on the transcription title to bring up your Transcription Settings.

2 Play Transcription: Clicking this will play the transcription continuously from the current position. Click again to pause playback.

3 Zoom Waveform: Adjust this slider to change the waveform zoom. Click the icon to reset.

4 Playback Speed: Adjust this slider to change the playback speed of the audio. Click the icon to reset.

5 Region Editor: When a region is selected, add text or translation (depending on which mode is selected) here.

6 Region List: All created regions will appear in this list showing both the language text and translation (when provided). Clicking on will start & stop playback for that region.

7 Region Controls, from left-to-right:

  • Play Region will play only the selected region,
  • Issue Button will create an Issue when text is selected within the editor,
  • Database Button when the cursor is within a word that has been analyzed, this will link to the Lemma page for that word in the Language Database,
  • Editor Toggle will toggle between the main (Indigenous) language editor and the translation editor,
  • Deselect Region cancels the currently-selected region to show all Issues in the issue list,
  • Delete Region will permanently delete the selected region.

8 Region Context Bar will display contextual information about the current word including analyses or spelling suggestions.

9 Previous/Next Region Buttons will navigate between regions, useful for going to the “last” region without scrolling.

10 Video Button will restore video thumbnail when minimized.

11 Media Access Expiry shows how much time is remaining for the current temporary media credentials.
